From September 14 until March 9, 2025 a selection of the Henri Swagemakers collection is exhibited at the STDLK Museum Breda. It is a huge honour to have been invited by the visual art collector himself to show one of my photos. The exhibition shows a diversity of images of people, ranging from personal stories to activism to playfulness. One is invited to find works one feels connected to.

I am so happy to have been invited to make an artwork for this year's art and cultural event Kunstsmullen, taking place in the Dutch villages Leende, Heeze and Sterksel from September 29 until October 27, 2024.
'Random Thoughts' (Gedachtenwolkjes) is an installation of 45 elements.
Walking in a forest thoughts come and go easily before you cab grasp them. Sometimes they can be difficult to make concrete too. These aspects are depicted by cut-out holes and/or blue or silver reflective surfaces in the white elements that have stitched and painted black lines.
The thoughts seem to be held by the twigs of the thin beech trees. The installation is installed in the woods around Kapellerput.

Being Featured

My work has the honour to be featured in two magazines recently.
Pro Arte magazine, March 2024 is completed dedicated to selected alumni from Academie Arendonk, B, from 2006 - 2023.
A few months ago they approached me to send in images of my work and to answer several questions. Two of these answers are printed as well. I had completely forgotten about the request and got a wonderful surprise when I was sent the magazine. Both chosen works, "The new normal" and "Social Bubble 2", have special meanings for me.
The other article, from The Contemporary Quilter Magazine, March, features our QuiltArt exhibition Material Evidence in the Mac, Birmingham, UK. My work "Can we leave things as they are?" is one of the works discussed. I very happy to learn that it leaves questions with the reviewer. That's one of the things I hope my work does, that it isn't easy to read. Everyone looks at art with their own background and knowledge, so they will probably see something different in it, or are left with some questions.
